Station Side Recording is usually performed by emulating a proprietary
digital set of the phone system and connecting in parallel off of
the extension in the phone room. One port off of the call logger
is required for each extension that is to have the recording feature.
Up to 128 ports can be housed in a single chassis. The advantage
of station side recording is it supports a networked capability
that allows users to record conversations by a click of their mouse.
When the call is terminated, the desktop screen pops allowing the
user to enter comments and the name(s) of the person(s) with whom
they just had a conversation. This information is archived with
the conversation for a more detailed history of the session in question.
Administrators can now sort archived conversations by date, time,
user name, extension, comment or name entered in the comment field
of the Client software.
